Bob Zehrer (b.1955) was raised on a dairy farm in Sauk Centre, Minnesota. He graduated from University of Minnesota in 1983 with a music degree in classical guitar. For the next 15 years, he continued to immerse himself in the arts by studying, teaching, choreographing and performing modern dance with Nancy Hauser Dance Company in Minneapolis and with Erik Hawkins Dance Company in New York City. He's also been working as a landscape designer during the warmer months and painting in his basement studio during the snowy days of Minnesota's winter. Incorporating some very unique techniques, the influences of both music and dance can be perceived in the stillness, rhythm and movement of his painted canvases.
